How to Donate a Vehicle

You may donate a vehicle to Santa Barbara Rescue Mission by clicking on the above link or calling the CARS toll free number. The CARS staff are available to help you with any of your vehicle donation questions and needs. You are entitled to receive a tax deduction equal to the sales price of the vehicle, if you itemize your deductions. If the vehicle sold for less than $500, you can deduct the “fair market value” up to $500. You will receive a tax receipt or IRS Form 1098C stating what the vehicle sold for within 30 days of its sale. It’s a creative way to offer help and hope to more men and women in need at the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission.
