Give Meals

The Last Stop.

Right now, we have neighbors who are hungry, homeless, addicted, and trapped in the despair and trauma of a painful, heartbreaking life.

As the only place between Ventura and Santa Maria that is OPEN 365 DAYS A YEAR, for many people, the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission is their last stop.

Their last hope. Their last chance.

With the support of people like you, each year we can:

SERVE 140,000

PROVIDE 45,000

Only One Rescue Mission

“I strongly support all the programs at the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission because they result in giving hope to those struggling to find hope, and in doing so prevent crime and support public safety. Although there is a tremendous need for residential treatment programs in Santa Barbara County, there is only one Rescue Mission.”

–Joyce Dudley, Santa Barbara District Attorney

No More Stolen Strawberries or Dumpster Donuts

For years, Sarah survived on two things: stolen strawberries from a farm near the bridge she lived under and donuts from a bakery dumpster.

“You could jump in the donut dumpster, and you'd have to get in and out before the trash compactor smashed you to death,” she says.

At the time, Sarah thought risking death to get something to eat was her best option. That’s how far down addiction had dragged this young woman who graduated from college and had a bright future ahead of her.

She tried, but wasn’t able to stay sober . . . until she came to the Mission. She arrived with nothing to her name — not even shoes. Thanks to the generosity of friends like you, she was given new shoes, clean clothes, a safe place to sleep, and delicious, nourishing meals. She joined our 12-Month Residential Recovery Program. Three years later, she’s still sober! She has a career as a pet stylist, manages a sober living house, and volunteers at the Mission once a week.

“The words to ‘Amazing Grace’ ring so very true for me, because I was in fact lost, but am now found, my chains of addiction are forever gone. Thank you so much for making it possible for me to be set free!”

Amazing Grace

Rolf Geyling | President

Just like Sarah, I love the song “Amazing Grace.”

The words truly embody our ministry. We’re all about breaking chains and allowing people to experience the freedom God has for them so they can be transformed.

With the help of friends like you, here men and women who have nothing left – who are broken beyond belief – find what they need most to heal: grace.

Amazing, undeserved, unearned grace.

Grace is free. But running the Mission’s 12-Month Recovery Program, where people like Sarah discover that grace, isn’t. The only reason we can even turn the lights on, put sheets on the beds, provide nourishing food, and employ professional counselors is through the generosity of people like you.

Together, I know we can keep offering that grace and transformation to more men and women in our community who are in desperate need.

For many it can start now. For the person whose life you help change, it could very well be the best gift they’ve ever received.

“We love because He first loved us.”—1 John 4:19
