Monique has been in her apartment for over two years now!
Homeless to Housed in Time for Christmas
Monique was facing homelessness in the fall of 2023. Even though she wanted help, she had no one to turn to.
“I didn’t have friends or family to stay with,” she says.
Thankfully she heard about the Mission. Here, because of friends like you she was given hot meals, a safe bed to sleep in, and case management services.
“If I hadn’t come to the Mission, I would have just been on the street or slept in my car.”
Not only did Monique not end up on the streets, but she got help navigating affordable housing. Within six weeks she was moving. She even got to wake up in her own apartment on Christmas morning!
“I couldn’t have done it by myself,” she says.
Most of our struggling neighbors can’t do it alone, either. Many of them don’t even know where to start.
But they know they need food. So, they come to us for meals, and those meals help us build relationships that change lives like Monique’s.
